How Should We Interpret Revelation?

Mark, Greg, and Papa Fred begin a series on Revelation and eschatology (end times) issues. The first big interpretative question is this: Should Revelation be interpreted primarily literally with some symbolism, or primarily symbolically with some things that are literal? Should Revelation be seen as describing mostly past, present, or future events? Or is it some combination of the three?
