1. Jesus is divine (v 2-3)
2. To think low thoughts of Jesus is evil (v 3-4)
3. Sin is worse than suffering and sickness (v 2, 5-7)
4. Faith, not merit, brings mercy (v 2)
5. We should bring others in need to Jesus (v 2)

Surely the end of Ezra is the most difficult part of this often neglected OT book. What are we to make of Ezra leading over 100 Israelite men to divorce their pagan wives and send them away along with their children?

Irresistible grace is a sweet and wonderful doctrine that is meant to humble us and to cause us to worship.

Sermon Summary: God provides for all His people’s needs through the wise, humble, and careful planning of Ezra. So let us learn to work hard and wisely as we entrust ourselves to God.

3. Ezra entrusts the offerings to the priests (and finds them faithful) [v 24-36]

Since 2 Peter 2:1 is probably the single strongest verse used against the position of particular redemption we thought it might be useful to spend some extended time looking at what this text is really saying in its context. We must remember that virtually all true theological positions have biblical texts that at least superficially appear to contradict them on first glance, but confirm them upon further study. We believe this is true regarding 2 Peter 2!
