Understanding when Jesus sits on David's throne (is it now, at the Father's right hand in heaven, or still awaiting the supposed earthly Millenial reign of Christ from Israel?) is a significant watershed for many regarding Dispensational and Covenantal theologies.
[To remove a potential confusion from the title of this message, it is possible to hold the Amillennial view, which our teaching team favors. This view says that Jesus reigns on David's throne in heaven today, which is itself the heavenly Millennial reign of Revelation 20.]

Perhaps the most important section of Acts regarding the inclusion of the Gentiles in the restored Israel of God is Acts 10-15. In chapters 10-11, we have the first clear example of a Gentile conversion (Cornelius and his family) and then in chapter 15 we read about the Jerusalem Council. In this scene a final decision is made about Gentile inclusion in the renewed people of God.

We learn the following thirteen lessons from watching Jesus care for the crowd of four thousand:
- He goes into Gentile territory (Decapolis; Mark 7:31)
- He welcomes and heals the needy (v 28-31a)
- His actions lead to Gentiles glorifying God (v 31b)
- He feels compassion (v 32)
- He tests the disciples (v 33)
- He shows them their inability (v 33-34)
- He takes the initiative (v 35-36)
- He takes the loaves and fish (v 36a)
- He gives thanks for the little food (v 36b)
- He involves the disciples (v 36c)
- He satisfies the hunger of all 4,000 (v 37a, 38)
- He provides seven baskets leftover (v 37b)
- He dismisses the people (v 39)
Mark received a lot of help with this outline from Steve Lawson's very helpful message on the parallel account in Mark 8:1-9 with a similar structure here.

Acts 1:6-8 is a key passage in the debate between all forms of Dispensationalism and Progressive Covenantalism and Covenant theology. What are the disciples really asking? And, more importantly, how does Jesus answer their question in verses 7-8?

Sermon summary: Blind spiritual guides don't believe their highest authority comes from above or that their deepest defilement comes from within. (And by nature, none of us do.)
Jesus gives several warnings about these blind spiritual guides.
They are blind regarding:
- Themselves (v 12-14)
- Authority (v 1-8)
- Worship (v 7-11)
- Indwelling sin (15-20)
Mark borrowed numerous ideas for points three and four from Kevin DeYoung here, here, and here.
